Iron deficiency anemia is reduced RBC due to low iron, often from blood loss or poor intake.

Symptoms

• •Pica
• •Koilonychia

Stages

Diagnosis

• ✓Ferritin <30
• ✓MCV <80
• ✓RDW ↑
• ✓Transferrin saturation <15%

Treatments

• →Oral iron (ferrous sulfate)
• →IV iron (severe)
• →Treat cause
